With respect to Intellectual Property the firm provides legal advice and delivers technical services on all matters of intellectual property (IP) protection, including the registration and renewal of trademarks, copyrights, patents and designs on the domestic and international level.

It also provides assistance in transferring IP rights through the drafting of relevant agreements for the sale, assignment and licensing of IP rights.

Data Protection

The firm’s data protection practice relates to advisory work in relation to a client’s compliance with data protection Cyprus and EU laws and in particular, the new General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). With effect from 25 May 2018, the GDPR is applicable to both EU established organizations (large and small/medium-sized) and non-EU established organizations that target or monitor EU residents.

The GDPR provides for a framework of privacy principles with respect to the collection, control, processing and transfer of personal data and brings far more stringent legal requirements, as well as increased fines that, depending on the type and size of the enterprise, reach up to EUR 20 million or 4% of its global annual turnover.
